Christmas is saved!
Thanks to TyLon Pittman, a 5-year-old boy, who took it into his own hands to help out the cops this year. He was going to make sure the Grinch wouldn't be stealing nothing! Tylon called 911 to give them a warning that the Grinch was going to come and steal Christmas.
“I just want to tell you something. Watch for that little Grinch,” Tylon told the 911 operator. “Because the Grinch is gonna steal Christmas, okay?”
Take a listen below:
The Dispatcher posted the exchange on her Facebook page, which quickly caught the attention of police officer Lauren Develle from Byram, Mississippi. The officer took it upon herself to head over to the family home and give the young boy some hope.
"The Grinch is not going to come steal your Christmas. I won't let that happen," Develle said to TyLon.
TyLon told Develle that he had seen the video on Facebook. He showed her the video, and told her he watches all the videos about the Grinch.
"So what are you going to do if he tries to steal your Christmas?" Develle asked TyLon.
"I want y'all to come back to my house and take him to jail," TyLon replied.
On Monday, Develle kept her promise and called up honorary junior officer TyLon to come help them put the Grinch in his holding cell. The Grinch could be charged with crimes including attempted theft of Christmas, Develle said. It wasn't as much about charging him for his wrongdoing as keeping a promise to her new friend.
